Instruction at The Vertical Edge
The Vertical Edge offers instruction in basic climbing techniques, focusing on safety and the knowledge necessary to safely belay another climber. These sessions are designed to be fun, while giving you the skills necessary to climb and belay with confidence.

The Vertical Edge Primer
What’s that? You have no prior climbing experience, and are interested in getting started? Then this is the course for you! The Vertical Edge Primer is designed to provide you with the information you’ll need to know to pass our “belay test” for top-rope climbing. We’ll give you the information and the skills to be able to climb safely, and with confidence!
Class size is limited to six students per session.
Age: 14 years and older
When: Tuesday and Thursday nights, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Cost: $30.00 (Includes admission, instruction, and equipment rental.)
Personal Primer
This course is offered for anyone who is just getting started but cannot attend the normally scheduled Vertical Edge Primer, or who prefers personal, one-on-one instruction. Call us for more information and scheduling of this course.
Age: 14 years and older
When: Scheduled by participant and Vertical Edge Climbing Center Staff. Reservations required at least two days in advance.
Cost: $40.00 (Includes admission, instruction, and equipment rental)
